Message everything that is done to the car that "personalizes" it also regretably "marginalizes" its appeal to potential buyers.

Those rims, need to go on ebay, obviously painting it back to stock color wouldnt be worth the cost, but you should have considered that a little more seriously when you decided to go orange.....when you go out on a limb you run the risk of that limb breaking. I'm not saying it looks bad or ugly or anything like that, (granted the wheels are hideous though) but you have to realize that there is a very good reason why you dont see orange Honda Accords and Ford Tauruses and Toyota Camrys all over the road.

And one more kick for the dead horse......
you absolutely killed your chances for sales at a price you wanted by even allowing anyone to see your car that dirty, much less TAKE PICTURES and post them. I cannot begin to understand how you thought that a potential buyer would overlook that.

Be honest with yourself here, if you were going into a very important job interview perhaps for a job that you didnt even consider "in your league"......would you walk in wearing jeans and T-shirt from yesterday, unshaven, unshowered reeking of B.O., hair all fucked up, flip flops on, and smelling like beer? What kind of impression would you make? What kind of result would you expect? This is equivalent to what you are presenting when you present your car in the shape you have presented yours in. Now there is nothing terribly egregious with it, but it is still filthy and people will make all sorts of assumptions, including (and especially) baseless ones about your car and the kind of care it has received over the years.

Normally I'd say "Surely you understand this" but it is obvious that you didnt.

If I were you, I'd spend the money to make sure the car at least appears to be in tiptop shape. Fix the interior so that it doesnt look jerry-rigged, ebay all the custom stuff that can easily be replaced to stock, hire a professional detailer, buy some stock or otherwise more mainstream (think 5 spoke, =broadest appeal) wheels. And readvertise. You will be really lucky if anyone from this site buys it unless they plan to do alot of work to it. But you may get some kid to come along for it.

And before you go trashing the midwest......YOU were the one who couldnt figure out why you weren't getting any bites on your car. I'm willing to bet Zfreak would take exception to your verdict of the midwest being "classless", as well as the guys from Ohio whose names escape me.
